Volunteer Opportunities at NAMI FDL
Have Our Meetings/Support Groups Helped You Or Your Loved Ones? You Could Become A Volunteer.
NAMI Forsyth Dawson Lumpkin is an all volunteer organization. It is volunteers who lead our support groups and classes. We would love to have more volunteers to lead these very important activities. There are numerous roles to be filled in our local chapter. We need:
Facilitators – Facilitators are folks that guide support meetings. NAMI GA provides training classes to provide you with the tools to handle the job. There are openings for both family members and consumers.
Teachers – teachers are needed to teach classes like NAMI Basics, Family to Family and Homefront classes.
Presenters – presenters are needed to tell their stories to the public. There are various events where we have the chance to help people by telling our story. Sometimes we go to schools, churches or law enforcement offices. There are opportunities for both consumers and family members.
Leadership Team – There are numerous roles to fill in this capacity which includes officers, advisors and members. Every year officers serve as President, Vice President, Secretary, Program Director, Finance Coordinator and Membership Coordinator. There are opportunities to run social media, the website and plan annual parties. Pick a category and join up. All NAMI members are eligible.
NAMI Walks – We need a person to head up our major fund raising effort. NAMI conducts an annual walk to raise awareness and funds for our NAMI state and local chapter. A coordinator is needed for this role.

Help us spread the word. Several times a year NAMI FDL has a table at various health and wellness events and needs volunteers to help man the table.
